Continual Education

Hi all,

Early on in my life/education I feared public speaking. Then in Year 8, my English Teacher Ms Reen made us do presentations in front of the class.... every week! I can still remember how SCARED I was when she announced this initiative. So on my first assignment I thought I would overcome my FEAR by doing a gangster RAP in front of the class. I practiced and practiced all weekend and when it came to it - I stood and delivered the RAP. It went down a treat. To this day a few of my friends still remember the lyrics. A whole year's worth of delivering presentations in front of our English class helped me overcome my fear of public speaking. NOT that I was any good at it. Even in recent years when I've had to speak in front of people on difficult topics I have caught myself stuttering.

Our education, knowledge, skills and talents can and should be practiced and refined over years.

While my "formal" education finished a number of years ago, my education continues in those areas that my heart desires. It's such a liberating feeling to be able to do such a thing. In relation to Fitness and Health right now I am more about Nutrition as well as issues on Rest and Recovery.

The information age we live in allows us to learn so much about so many things. There are some great people out there who share so much of their wisdom and knowledge for FREE. Therefore is no reason for any of us to be ignorant to issues that we value.

What will you be doing this week to increase your education?

thanks for reading
